Update on the use of characterization factors (EF3.1)

In February 2023, the JCR released the updated characterization factors (CFs) for use in EPDs intended for publication in the Program Operator EPDItaly. It was possible to continue to use, for one year, the old version of the CFs (EF3.0) in the development of EPDs, to allow time for LCA software to update the CFs.

Please note that the transition period ended on Feb. 29, 2024, so it is mandatory to use the most updated CF version (EF3.1) for all published EPDs.

Please note that the validity of already published EPDs will not be affected by this change.
