Note about PCRs application

Following some requests for clarification on the application of:

• PCR EPDItaly013 “Electricity produced by wind turbines”
• PCR EPDItaly 014 “Electricity produced by photovoltaic modules”

with reference to Par. 6.2 and 6.3 of the PCRs, this note to specify that all the environmental loads relating to the processes that take place upstream of the connection point with the national electricity grid are to be included in the Core phase; all environmental loads relating to the processes that take place downstream of the connection point with the national electricity grid are to be included in the Downstream phase.

The Par. 1.3 of the PCRs is also applicable to the preparation of EPDs relating to wind farms/photovoltaic plants only if the plant is built and operational and the EPD Owner is the person who holds the ownership and manages it.

The next revision of the PCRs will take into account the above specifications.
